Some of you may already know this, but there’s a lot of great things going on in the indie horror community of late. Now is the best time to be a part of it, not just for writers but also for readers. So many good books are popping up all over the place. So how do you keep up with them all? Two answers come to mind. The first is reviews. I don’t know about the rest of you, but many of the books on my reading list were added based on reviews I stumbled across. The other way I find books is by browsing different book platforms, but many of them don’t have a lot to offer in the genres I like (or suggest books in genres I don’t even read). That brings us back to the indie horror community and why I’m writing today’s post. I know of two great websites that are perfect for helping you find your next read.
The first site I may have told you about before. Myindiemuse.com is a good source for indie news and book reviews. They are hard at work helping readers sort out the best of indie literature. I do reviews for them in my spare time. Many other great reviewers work for the site as well. Make sure to check it out if you have time. You’ll find the link below:
The other site I want to tell you about today is Godless.com. It’s a brand-new platform, like Amazon for indie horror. Not only does the site help readers find new books to read, but it’s also not censored which allows for more extreme stories. Some of my new favorite authors have new releases exclusive to the site including Simon McHardy, Rayne Havok, and B.J. Swann, plus many more. If you haven’t checked it out yet, what are you waiting for? It’s the place to be for extreme horror readers. The link is below:
Those are the only things going on in the horror community, just a few I wanted to share. I’ve also heard rumors of a few horror authors getting together for a horror podcast. That sounds right up my alley, and I can’t wait to check it out. There are so many great books popping up all over the place. Even those two sites aren’t enough to keep up. Two other authors with new books out I’m dying to read are Aron Beauregard and Daniel J. Volpe. I hope I can squeeze them in soon as I’ve only seen good reviews for both. I’m sure those aren’t the only new releases available, but those are the ones I’m most excited about.
The indie horror community is growing by the day, and I’m so happy to be a part of it. Check out the sites I mentioned, and you’ll see what I mean. There are some amazing books out there. Hopefully, you’ll find a few to add to your reading list. That’s all I have for today. I will try to do another book review soon. Thanks for reading! -E.B.
