Hey, guys! Sorry I haven’t been as active this month. I’ve just had a lot going on. As some of you may know, I’ve recently taken up arm wrestling, and two weekends ago, I competed in my second tournament. I didn’t place this time, but I learned a lot and met some amazing ladies. As luck would have it, we had the biggest turnout of women arm wrestlers since 1983. It was awesome to be a part of it. I can’t wait to see where this arm-wrestling journey takes me.

I’m still working on the next book of the Haven or Hell series. Honestly, I didn’t expect it to take this long, but I want to make sure everything is perfect before releasing it. There is a part at the end that’s been nagging me, and I can’t figure out how to fix it. As such, I’ve decided to go back and read the first book. When I finish with it, I will re-read book two and hopefully figure out what I’m doing wrong. This is my first attempt at a series, and I want to have everything just right. I don’t think anyone’s going to be expecting what about to happen in the next book.

As far as reading goes, I’ve read two books recently that I’d like to share with you. If you haven’t read them yet, I highly recommend both of them. The first was Jack Ketchum’s Joyride. This was the third book I’ve read by him, and I wasn’t disappointed. He’s quickly becoming one of my favorite authors, and I wish I could have met the man himself. I particularly liked the author’s note at the end. The bonus novella, Weed Species, was also great.

The other book I read was The Ruins by Scott Smith. I watched the movie a while back and liked how original it was. Well, I can tell you now that the book is even better, and nothing at all like the movie. I was surprised by how much I liked it. It was like I couldn’t put it down. It also kept me occupied on a recent plane ride. (I may or may not be scared of flying.) If you haven’t read it yet, you should check it out. I was really impressed with the author’s writing style.

Next on my reading list is Aron Beauregard’s Yellow. I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. I’m also trying to get caught up on some of the new releases on Godless. Many of my favorite authors have new books out, and I can’t wait to read them. That’s all I have for today. I’m planning to be more active here in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. Have a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by!  -E.B.
